Mission
Rebel
Theater’s mission is to establish and nurture the highest
quality of dynamic and progressive American Theater by
using the American Experience*;
to
cultivate unique artistic voices specific to the American
culture through the performing arts; to provide
Playwrights readings and workshops of their new works with
the goal of Rebel Theater producing the subsequent full
production when the new work deemed ready;
to
provide professional and positive opportunities to Artist
in the American Theater by producing full productions of
new dramatic, multi-racial, musical, political works and
by reworking the classics to fit the American Experience;
to
illuminate the human condition by exploring the American
Experience and its growth, dynamic, and excellence through
the cultivation of unique and unheard voices;
to
infuse a love and visceral need for high quality American
theater that invokes the human spirit in the vast cultural
communities in the United States of America;
to
be inclusive and draw upon the talent and identity of all
world cultures regardless of religion, gender, sexuality,
race, age, political views, or economic status.
*The
American Experience definition shall be inclusive of all
self-identified experiences and connections to America’s
ever evolving culture and communities.

used to both educate and inspire
our society.

as artists believe in a greater responsibility of
using our art to illuminate truth
while provoking both
conversation and change on
the stage, as well as in the audience.
Rebel
Theater

passionate about resisting the old traditions of the
American theater. It is our purpose in the creation
of the company to force a new conversation, a new dialogue,
a new change, a new community that will be fully realized
through our art.
